STEM Teacher Grant

The Rocky Mountain Chapter of AFCEA awards grants to K-12 schools in El Paso County, Pueblo, and surrounding communities for their STEM programs and classrooms.  The objective of AFCEA is to promote the advancement of technology-related programs in areas of importance to the future growth of humankind.  The intention is to encourage students to pursue college degrees and careers in science, technology and mathematics.

Teachers are awarded grants to purchase:

  • Supplies and other science or math-related materials

  • Hardware and/or software

  • Materials for upgrades to existing programs or to start new STEM programs

  • Science kits (robotics, cyber, etc.)

  • Projects deemed appropriate to further excellence in STEM

The criteria for these grants are:

  • Be an accredited school in El Paso County and surrounding communities, including Pueblo

  • Have STEM teachers identify an appropriate use of funds based on the areas listed above

  • Submit the attached application form with all seven areas fully completed no later than 10 May 24

  • After award, provide receipts verifying the grant was used for the approved purposes

No grant request is too small to fund, but typically we award grants in the $1,500 -$3,000 range.  Our goal is to positively impact as many students as possible.  To accomplish this we reward teachers across our community from elementary to high school.

Grant awards are not limited to one per school, so please encourage all STEM teachers to take advantage of this program.
